2001 SLE (PROJECT REBUILD)

I bought a 2001 SLE with 173k Miles Runs and drives Bonneville from a auction pool . It will need to be rebuilt and it will hopefully just be my DD . Only the front right was damaged , and no air bag deployment . Looks like a fender , hood and light is the main replacement focus . Hopefully the radiator support frame is not to badly bent for the looks of these pics ?

This will be my first 2000-2005 Bonneville . which i always wanted . i owned a 98 SE at one time and loved it ! Hopefully this one will come out ok .

I think it looks WAY worse than you are expecting it to be. That whole inner structure of the wheel well is pushed in about 6 inches (coils touching AC dryer, coolant reservoir touching alternator pulley).

Also, the mounting plate for the bumper cover it torn off, so you'll probably be looking for a bumper cover unless you can find a way to plastic weld it.

How it should look...

Andrew's right....that car is too far gone.....you guys are just looking cosmetically....the suspension in that corner is gonna be gone too...for it to remotely drive right, gonna have to fix the core support, and depending on the actual hit angle and intensity the subframe prolly isn't quite right anymore.

It may look ok in the pic, but you start lookin at it and diggin into it I'd put money on the suspension being f'd.

I also just noticed how far the cowl piece is pushed up out of place, I bet you will find creases in the metal all the way to the base of the windshield.

Look between andrew's pic and your pic, looks like (I may be wrong) but the strut tower doesn't have a strut top stickin thru it...unless I'm matching things up wrong.

What it should be:

What it is:

Make the compare and contrast a lil easier.

Nah, Nate that is a hole for the cowl. The strut tower isn't visible in his pic.

SPLLOUDER, how much did you pay for this car?

I understand the frame support for the fender and radiator will be way off . But can i make it drive-able at all ? again i'm not gonna sell it i just want to be a daily driver for me for a bit ?

will i be able to replace the fender and maybe force some of the structure back in place and fit a new fender on and hood . it does not have to be perfect just drive able until i can buy my dream ssei and i will part this one out ?

you're gonna have your work cut out for you......honestly.....by the time you get this remotely ok to go down the road you're prolly gonna get your dream SSEi.....

You have to get that support away from the engine tho....and if the A/C is touching the coils like it is, I'm betting the dog bone engine mount that attaches to that support is either bent/twisted or just straight out *fook*.....Plus the coolant tank is riding on the alt pulley....

There's a LOT more than just cosmetics on this old girl.

These do not have a dogbone like the GP. There is an engine mount from the oil pan to the frame right behind the strut.

I agree, there seems to be a lot of structural damage here that is not seen. Once you get it home and pull the fender off, you will see. You might be better off parting this one and using the cash to buy something already driveable. That, or find something that needs a motor / tranny combo.

Take some pics with the fender off when you get it. For me it would be a no-brainer to part it out.

yes either way i will go get it . AND YES , ill post alot of pics for sure . if not iam gona part it out .

and as far as the radiator overflow touching the belt . in the 2nd to last pic u can clearly see it broken from it mount on the fendor and is just sitting lose in there .

and hopefully the A/c is just a optic-allusion because of the angle of the picture . hopefully and is not complty touching the belt drive .

I will know alot more when i get it . or i will have some parts for sale : )

The inside almost looks flawless

I'm sure there are at least a few people who would pay good money for those centercaps, among other parts that are in decent shape on that car. :btruestory:

Also that interior is in great shape. I think you should easily break even with a part out.
