After market Amp.

I need to figure out where to put the remote wire for my amplifier. I still have my stock head unit.
Amp in question:

I've had it in multiple places in the fuse box under the back seats, and it's been causing problems all the time. Killed an alternator, drained my battery multiple times... Is 400 watts too much for the stock amperage of the alternator? If you guys have any suggestions throw them out. I really want my music back.

Nah. It's an SLE, so it's got the Delco system I believe. No rear door speakers.

I mean I had the system working well for about 2 and half weeks. Then it ate my alternator. My lights were flickering. Sitting at lights in drive, the RPM's would drop to 500 and shake the car for maybe 1 second then go back up to normal. Then one night, I drove my car into a parking lot and parked it. Shut it off and locked it. Came back in 2 minutes, and the battery was COMPLETELY dead. Starter didn't even click when turned. As of right now, all I have playing music is my tweeters, since they're not on the amp circuit.

So is the amp always on?

Well that's the thing. Where ever I'd put the remote wire in the fuse box, the amp would always show via LED that's it always on. Cause when it's off, it's got like a status light, and the LED is very barely illuminated.

It does not have a factory amp...
Carl where did you end up hooking your scan gauge to? You could always run a wire from there, the amp does not draw much current for the remote turn on wire.

So its a basic old school install what i did was hit or miss till i found one that shut off with the ignition when i get a chance i will go out and tell you which fuse i tied into. I also went at it from under the fuse box with a clip

Thanks guys!
Seth, when I put the lead in where the Aeroforce went, it did not shut off with the ignition like the gauge did.

That is weird, I guess I would have to see it in person, sorry.

Oh well. Thanks anyways Seth. I'll get it eventually. It has to be something simple.

Figured it out. I hate myself for this one... Loose lead on the positive terminal on the battery.
*sigh*

Don't worry, I feel dumb too, I sat on that battery how long trying to figure this out? LOL
It really does explain what's been going on though. At least it was an easy, simple fix. Like always.
