You will have to remove the needles to get to the face off of the dash. I changed my bulbs recently and had to remove them. Use a fork to lift them off, nice and easy like butter. :) There is no way around it. I took a picture of my dashboard before I started so I would replace the needles exactly where they were. You could also mark them dash with a pencil line. good luck

so I was in a hurry last night driving a little faster than I would normally over a certain set of railroad tracks, and apparently the jolt woke the lights back up! There is only one spot on the tach that doesnt light up correctly, but I am ok with it.

usually on the cluster lights, you remove the entire gauge cluster as one unit, no recalibration needed or anything.. there are little lights that pop in the back and its done. easy to done. they twist out and they are easy to replace... here is kinda what it looks like (this is a supra cluster but same basic design):

some guys on other cars have done LED lights, they will be bright and won't burn out... plus you can change the colors up a little.. dont know if anyone here has done it but it looks pretty cool... here is a site i found looking around.. now i don't know what bulb ours take but here is an idea of what you can do.
