Im guessing by the looks of it the rear shocks are leaking? they have been this way for sence i bought the car... they feel fine, not bouncy or anything... im guessing my next job is the rear shocks.. '00 SSEI with rear air suspension. anything other then the Monroe Air? looking for more performance, I know everyone runs the Monroe because of a lack of options but thought i would ask again.
Car is on a lift so the boot is pulled up a little.

Yup leaking. Your elc is the performance, stiffens rear shocks with load (aggrnesive turning or extra weight in trunk). Monroes are standard for these, not gonna find a better shock for the price. Don't forget about the RockAuto club discount!

I would like to hear some feed back if anyone has any for the KYB's or the Sachs. My 04 Z06 Vette comes with the upgraded Sachs Shocks. I wonder if they will be a little more performance oriented then the others?.. just thinking out loud... not to worried about the Price, more of the results.

In RockAuto catalog the GXP and SLE for 04/05 have the same part number for the Delco units. So there isnt any difference there.
And RockAuto also carries Sachs units but have never heard anyone using them. Everyone just uses the Monroes on here. Have heard that the KYBs are really stiff.
This is a totally different animal than your Vette.

I understand the vette is a completly different animal, my only reference to the sachs units are to the vette, they are more performance oriented then the other brands for the vette and i wasnt sure if this holds true for these shocks or not. I might experiment and try them, worse case i can sell them to my friend for his Riv or keep them for my moms Lesabre if they are soft and i don't like them.
Just get the Monroe's. I've had no issues with them.
Bye Bye: RIP sandrock

I'm confused. The Electronic level Control just inflates the rear shocks to raise the ride height. It doesn't adjust if the car is being driven aggressively and then change when car is being driven smoothly. And it doesn't change the valving.
Bonne GXP didn't have Bilstein parts. That's the Grand Prix GXP Don.

Spot on, elc does nothing for performance. Monroes are junk, if sachs makes one, id go for it. Ive got to get around to posting all the part numbers to get real new gxp stuff. Monroes are all based on sle valving as far as ive been able to gather.
02 SSEi-Turning money into tire smoke, very efficiently.
I was always under the impression that the ELC pumped up when the car sensed agressive driving. When I had my Ei, the rear shocks were a lil stiffer after taking a set of aggressive corners. Got out after and it took a lil more to push the car down.

The system might be sensing the height changes as you drive aggressively and try to hold it at regular height putting more pressure on the struts, which is what you might feel when you push on them.

So it does stiffen up a bit. What I thought.
