Hockey Puck Mount Done...Sweet.

I finally got around to doing the hockey puck mount and the difference in shift smoothness is amazing.

There is a bit of additional vibration in the 1500-1800 rpm range, but the net result is phenomenal. Where the transmission had been clunking into gear, now it just softly clicks. I had to keep checking the first few times to make sure I had properly moved the gear selector.

As a side note, it also seems to have changed the feel of braking effort. Not harder or softer, just different. Difficult to describe, but I did need to adjust a bit, as it seems the engine downshifting is not as abrupt and the car lurches less.

Nice.

I agree, this is one of the cheaper and easiest mods to do. I love the way it feels while driving. They set these up for the type of people who do not want to hear or feel the engine in any way, thus the quiet air box. I like to know my engine is running.

I did mine a few months back also and am very happy with the result and especially the price.

It's a great mod and if you add the bushing, the vibrations are almost completely undetectable.

Still loving mine over a year later. Though underneath the car not long ago when I did my shift kit, I've realized I'm slowly but surely tearing the sway bar link bushing I used between the bolt and subframe apart. Guess it made it a good while, eh?

I was wondering about the bushing longevity, and about the type of puck to use. I used the regular black pucks and noticed that when tightened, the washer set is pushing into them a bit. Maybe after a year or so, I'll replace them with the harder, heavier weight orange practice pucks and see how those do.

Should not be too hard to do since the needed parts are already there; just some new pucks.

In any case, it sure beats the original!

Yeah, I'm not too happy with how long the sway bar link bushing lasted. I think I'm going to try to find something better to replace it with.
