HI everybody!
I have a 97 SSEI...it's in amazing condition and stored winters...I went to start it today.. and the battery was low...so I pulled my tahoe up to it..put jumper cables on it.. let it charge a while.. and when I put the key in.. and went to turn the motor over.. it went click... and stopped and all the lights and dash and gauges and anything elctrical.. just went out.. and well.. there is no electrical power whatsoever.
Anybody have any ideas of what might have happened or is there a main breaker or something that popped and can be reset?

Thanks in advance
NB

Sounds like you popped a cell in the battery...

But check the Maxi fuses( 60 amp blue ones first ) make sure they are good...

Really? that's possible?. Never heard of that. hmmm... ok.
The car is stored about half an hour from here.. so I'll definitely check those fuses next time I'm out there.. just wondering if there is any thing else to check or something to look for while I'm out there??

Thanks again

Very possible... I have seen a few pop a 60 amp leaving the car 100% dead... Not sure if that would be the case for you...

Did you try to start it with the Tahoe hooked up? Or had you disconnected at the point where you went to start it?

yes.. the tahoe was still hooked up to the bonneville when i tried to start it... so that's what makes me think it's not the battery . the battery for the tahoe would've kept the bonneville alive still. right?

i think the pcm ( main compuuter) has its own fuse, check it, and the fuse box that has fuses for everything also has its own fuse i believe, check that too. or you fried your ignition switch in the steering column.

Sounds to me like corrosion in the positive battery connection at the battery. In between the two cables.

Well.... I went back to where the car is today... I was ready to check maxifuses.. and whatever else I could check.. and I opened the car door to get to the hood release.. and the interior lights came on !!! hmmm.. interesting. So... I put in the key and the dash and gauge lights came on! Not sure what it did over thelast couple nights.. could something that popped have reset itself????
Anyways... I hooked my tahoe up to the bonneville with some booster cables.. let it charge for a bit.. I hit the key and it fired right up ! First try !
I"m a happy camper! Just not sure what the heck happened there?!

Thank you for all your suggestions!! I appreciate the help. Wish I had the answer for everybody just in case it happens to someone else.

Thanks again

If the battery tests good, I would suspect a bad connection from your jumper cables, possibly corroded terminal ends on the Bonnie's battery cables.
