Prepare to spend more than the car is worth a couple times over and still have a wrong wheel drive GM product.

If thats what you want to do, I wish you luck and I look forward to pics.

That ended my thoughts on that pretty fast. I just saw this video and got to thinking.

I think you'll end up being plenty happy with the power you can make N/A.

To be honest, if you really want boost. Swap. After seeing so many swaps now. Its not as hard as people make it. We could honestly do it in a weekend.

agreed. I topswapped and love it. The parts cost probably around $500. Although my mods are mild having decent power on a FWD car is really kind of a pain in the ass. I can't imagine how annoying it would be with 400+ whp. Fun, but hard to justify spending $5k when you can barely put that power to the road in a meaningful way.

That would almost have me leery, I'd drop in a L67 and work from there. JMO.

For the cost and ease of work, dropping in an L67 is the easiest.

Guess I'm the odd one here...

I would love to see a turbo Bonneville on here, honestly if I had the money I would definitely do a turbo swap on the 03 and get rid of that power robbing hot air pump

Turbo requires a lot of custom fab and custom tuning that I don't think any of aforementioned parties are up for. On these cars, the S/C is the most reliable way to make power.

He already said the first reply killed his thoughts on it, I was simply stating my opinion as well...

You really can't speak for reliability of a power adder for making power. A S/C is not a more reliable means of making power, it is merely a more available (factory) option and more commonly done.

Don't get me wrong. I love superchargers but turbo's are just different to me. Always loved spooling over whining. Seeing that video and seeing the turbo kit on ZZP's website gave me temptations and made me wonder a little bit. I didn't mean to start a debate!

Are you new to the internets?! :poke: Someone is always wrong and there is always someone to point it out :P

I like the idea!
It's easier to do this stuff than you think even though it seems daunting at the beginning, the hard part is the moneys (and by extension the tools you have to buy) and time you have to devote to it. Having a kit available makes it easier.
It might cost more than you can get from selling the car to somebody else, but I believe that the value of the car is what you get out of it by driving it. If you have the ability to do something, I say why not?

Why the hell not? Its no more custom tuning than a built L67. Not much custom work to make it fit and you can get a used kit on clubgp for stupid cheap nowadays. Saw a nice one for 1600 yesterday. Just keep it in the 400 - 450 hp range and you will be fine with available transmission parts.

there's a guy on youtube that swapped SC for a turbo.....really fast too, but looked strange sitting off to the side like it was.

If I had the money I would definitely Turbo. But top swap is much easier, cheaper, and with what I'm planning, more reliable.

I wouldn't top swap if I were you, compression ratio ain't right...along with weaker internals. You'll want a complete motor swap.

Don't be discouraged by anyone! If people only went with conventional wisdom, we would still be walking everywhere.
Just saying...
