Low Oil level light On

Post by DMZ-UTAH »

I have a 2000 SSEI and the Low Oil Level warning comes on from the Driver Info. center. I had a new oil psi sending unit put in and oil psi is fine(year ago). No oil leaks as those were fixed when I had the intake manifold gaskets done. (had coolant in the oil)
That was about a year ago. Was lucky and after changing oil a dozen times over a few months, all is well.
Is there another sensor that I can replace? I see one(I think) going into the bottom of the block(or the pan, cant remember) in the front above the oil pan.
Is that it?
Its nothing major and at this point if its just a sensor, no big deal. But if I have to sell the car, it doesnt look good with that glaring at you all the time!
Thanks in advance for all the help.

Have you checked your oil, and ensured that it's to the top of the hashed marks on the dipstick?

The sensor is in the oil pan, yes.

Oil level is up and fine. Actually changed oil and added 5 qts to be sure

Anyone have an idea of the part number of this sender?
Been searching the different GM parts sites and only can find the oil psi sender.

Thanks.

It's probably the sensor. If not check make sure your coolant isnt leaking through UIM/LIM for some reason on my 99 it weirded out the sensor. Just a few things to throw out there.
I'm backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!
