Those are pieces of a thrust washer... Its not a good thing to see that much in the filter and pan... That would mean that the thrust washer is almost history...

These are the thrust washers that come in a 4T60-E rebuild kit.. Just to give you an idea of what those pieces are from

That's exactly what we found in the 94 SSEi tran pan. We changed the oil, put some Lucas in it and it's been driving now for 1000 miles with no problems......knock on wood.

You may get more life out of that trans... If you start to have issues you'll know in a hurry... I had a few pieces in mine back about 50000 or 60000 miles ago and the trans is still going.. I had a piece of the large thrust washer.. But I get a little bit of 2nd gear unhappiness once in a while, but I think thats due to clutch pack wear being I am at 171,000 miles...

I'd keep an eye on what the trans is doing and just keep driving it till its ready to call the ghost

Amazingly our 94 SSEi has 174,000 miles on the transmission and we know it will need to have a rebuild soon. Hoping it will last a few more thou. 8-[

Nothing looks horribly out of place besides the small pieces of washer.

Add in some Lucas to it...that should help a little.

How many miles on it also?
