I like the quad seating, never seen it before in a tahoe. What is in the space next to the climate controls under neath the vent? My avalanche has a cubby whole there, it looks like they put in a panel for a button.

I think that's Traction Control. Stupid they take up that whole panel for the button, the cubby there is so useful. Wouldn't be too hard to relocate the button somewhere and put in the cubby, I've seen it done.

Hmm... didn't know they put traction control in the trucks. I would think with a 4wd truck it wouldn't be needed. Must of been something they put in in 05, my 04 doesn't have it. My parents also had an 05 tahoe almost identical to that one and I dont remember it having traction control but I supposed it is possible.

It looks like a vehicle on top of squiggles, which is the symbol for TC, same as our '11 Suburban. I'm not really sure what else it could be.

Wasn't doubting you, I just find it odd that a truck would need it. From the pictures I thought thats what it could be but didn't know for sure since I have never seen it before in that generation of truck

That's the TC button. If its in 2wd I could see traction control being helpful on wet pavement.

This also has the Z55 suspension option, sensatrac or something.

There's too many *dang* buttons in this thing, gonna take me a couple days to get it all squared away lol. Has wireless headphones and a remote for the dvd also, guess ill have to get married and have kids soon lmao. Could use an alignment also. Think this is getting synthetic oil and a K&N drop in before the new year. But we will be riding in style up to Lake Gogebic, MI, for a sled trip over new years.

Ive always been a fan of fullsize SUVs, had an '81 K5, and a '94 2dr Yukon.

P/Us have always felt light in the back end to me, obviously cause of the bed. With this I can go back to using my Cabelas tent with the vestibule that goes around the back and sleep in the truck and keep all my bed off the ground, Im all for back packing and roughing it but why do it if ya dont have to. I can haul friends around more comfy than a p/u, and keep my cargo dry without having to buy a topper, etc, etc. Got lots of reasons not to get a p/u.

Also, it is nice for hunting because I can place all the cargo and stuff in the bed and lock it and still have room for passenger and it all stays dry. I do like the Tahoes because they are shorter and seem to ride a little bit better. I have always been torn between a p/u and a SUV.

I totally get not getting a pickup. No bed to worry about people throwing crap in or having to scoop snow out of, you can lock all your stuff, better weight balance, etc. If you need to haul something, you can buy/borrow/rent a trailer. I DD'd a 98 Tahoe for a year, and I liked it.

This thing totally surprised me last night when I pulled back into the lot in to a parking spot, it did a 90* right into the spot with just barely going to lock. Even my dad was like "Holy *shoot*!".

That Tahoe of yours is trimmed out identical to our 05 Suburban. Absolutely identical. We have the wireless sets for the DVD player, the moonroof, heated seats, etc. Even have the same rims.

You can get upwards of 20 MPG on nice flat e-way. I didn't go to synthetic and still run the dino juice every 5 or 6K. Doesn't burn a drop.

On another note, I can't believe how much used truck prices have shot up. I bought our 05 Suburban in June with only 64K for $11,300. I guess that's the nice thing about desperate sellers!!

Does that have electronic air shocks? If so, they are junk. About the weakest link on the entire truck. You'll get the "SERVICE RIDE CONTROL" on the DIC. Then you know you have a leak somewhere. I was reading that there's a way to install a resistor in the circuit to trick the DIC into thinking there's no fault. (similar to what we do with the VATS trick on the 92-99 gen). Then you can go to conventional shocks.

The best forum I've found is http://www.fullsizechevy.com. Those guys are really helpful and not immature.

Yeah I think thats what it is on the suspension, it says something(stupid brain wont remember) under the LT badge. My buddy has a 99 Sierra with the 5.3 and has never had a problem with it except a fuel pump and intake gaskets.

I haven't checked the KBB, but that price seems insanely high for a 6 year old truck with 123,000 miles. Is it? Or am I nuts? I guess I have sticker shock from when my Dad bought his car for the price he did.

Blue books at about 17,000 retail between kbb and nada. Got it for 13.5 out the door.
