Well about 3 months not ago I crossed a set of bad RxR tracks and had a full tank... Well after a few more miles it got 1/4 and won't pick up the last of the fuel in the tank... I can only use the top half of the tank now & before the light would come on before I ever ran out of gas... Could the Strainer Fell off the Pump & cause the dying around Right hand corners has also returned... If I keep it over half all the time she's fine on the Twistiest roads.... I just got into the shop and gonna drop the tank if others might agree...

Sounds like you dented the tank, and the baffles broke.

I never Bottomed out but I did see signs of cracking inside when I had the pump out so I will keep that idea in Mind... I sure hope not I really can't afford that now... I have it in the Barn now going to get it out & see whats going on in the tank then :banghead:

'92 was pretty well known for broken plastic baffles in the tank.

Only solution is to drop and replace, unfortunately.

Well I got the gas tank dropped and sure enough the strainer sittin at the bottom of the tank however there are some cracking along the sides of the tank but is not really bad they're not fully broken yet... There has got to be a better way to connect that strainer to the pump... That lil nipple thing SUCKs! I also if I siphoned out 6 gallons that I could not touch with the pump :dontknow:

:bluetwitch: Well I got the tank back in and I just put a half a gallon of gas in and it fired right up and seems like my fuel gauge is working better too I used a Q-tip and cleaned off the sending unit and also checked it with a volt meter and Hoot Hoot I'm back to driving... Now I can have a Low Gas Light again... It didn't go off till I added 3 gallons of gas tho... Anyways Problem solved I tapped the Strainer on the bottom of the pump I think I might have now snapped all the way into place I think it wasn't on correctly...

92 was known for NO baffles in the tank. That changed in 93.

What I've seen with all three of my family's 92's, was baffles were present, some cracked, but not enough to cause the issue. For all three, it was the original small strainer causing problems. The revised larger strainer fixed the stalling on right hand turns for us.
