Ambient temp sensor problems

Post by theax40 »

Few days ago when the weather got below 40, I noticed my exterior temp was reading in the 60's. I searched and found a few topics that say just to replace the sensor located in front of the radiator. But the temp reading isn't stuck, it goes up and down with the actual temperature. Quite accurately, in fact, I've determined it's +31 degrees off.

So is there any way to calibrate it somehow? Or just get a new sensor?

I can give you a new sensor to try. If it doesn't fix it, just mail it back.

How much to keep it if it fixes the problem?

Well, it seems the sensor is loosing its mind. It now always reads 100 or over, right now its 123 degrees. Incredible.

Could anyone tell me the part number for the ambient temp sensor? Mine is about 43 degrees off give or take, Can I order it fairly cheap off eBay?
