Thinking of upgrading to ZZ Performance's CNC Ported heads for my 2001 SSEi. What are the caveats? PCM issues? Fuel mileage? Stresses on other parts or systems?
Thanks.

What mods do you have? You don't need the ported heads till you're out-flowing your stock heads, which takes a LOT of work. That's like over 350 WHP range there.

No other mods at this point. Original heads are off and being rebuilt to stock standards.
So the ported heads are of no effect without other mods?

If you don't have the budget for headers and a 3" cat, and either a cam or rockers, those heads are a waste of time and money.

That's the input for which I'm looking.
Thanks.

These motors arent like 350s or 302s, which need help in the heads area from the factory. They flow pretty well in a stock form.

Heads/cam should be done together. Headers/exhaust should be opened up as well for the new flow. They'll definitely help, and very much improve the top end as the stock castings are designed around being reliable, and having torque peak very low.
