All I notice is its missing the trim under the driver door. Other than that, gotta be a great deal for only $900.

I'm guessing Cancerus Automotus, AKA RUST.

I'm guessing she hit the rocker panel under the drivers door.

I am guessing something with the ABS and TC causing an accident. I noticed the TC button is pulled out of the console.

I am waiting to see picks of the underside...

Looks like the driver side rocker panel ground fx is half missing and the exposed rocket panel is hard to see in the pic, but looks messed up.
My guess, high miles, something damaged the underside of the driver side (around the rocker panel) that jeopardized the integrity of the body. Maybe a problem coupled with rust???
So what's the answer??

So the pinch weld under the drivers door is obviously been damaged. Also, I'm not sure if it is just dirt or not, but it appears that below both rear doors it almost looks like tire run marks on the bottom of the trim. Did she roll up over a curb or some other obstacle?

My guess is that you're going to tell us soon.

Is that a huge bump in the driver's floorpan?

Pretty good guesses.... yes, it's the rocker panel and floor that took the hit. The weirdest part is how it happened. She ran over an OPEN man hole, no cover. The city shows no record of there being any work done there, so it was probably taken by a scrapper or a dumb kid.
She explained it to me many times, but I still can't understand how it received the damage where it did. I would assume that if you run over an open hole like that, you would either bend the rim, or tear back the suspension. Anyone have some accident reconstruction software?
IMO, this is the best way to total out a car, as every part on the car is sellable, except for the $25 rocker molding.

I'll admit I've never seen a car go like that before! You're right about it being ideal though...lots of good parts there.

Based on the angles of the damage, I would almost guess that the cover was there, but not set properly. When she drove over the loose cover, it "Swiveled"up and caught the rocker area. Also consider the standard manhole is about 24" wide, and an SSEI tire is about 27" wide (based on google searches). I would expect more damage immediately next to the tire if the wheel went into the hole. That's just my online Monday morning QB take on this though
EDIT: Also curious as to how fast and what angles/turning were involved with it since the rear tire shows no sign of hitting the manhole at all.

It was teenage, mutant ninja turtles. Forgot to put the manhole cover back.

We had a company truck have the same thing happen and it did "snatch" the suspension from under the truck, but the size of the manhole covers would be a big determination as well as tire size/wheel size. - BC

LOL, that gave me a good laugh.
But yeah, that seems kinda ridiculous to be totaled. Although I bet you are not complaining!

Looks like a great car if you clean her up.
*EDIT* Also, is it just me, or does the passenger front seat look like the most immaculate thing you've ever seen?

It's already half apart, not cleaning it up.
The seat isn't that great... the ones in the black one I am selling right now are way better.

I was going to guess something uni-body related. only reason is because it looked like a couple gaps weren't quite lined up...

Looked pretty good in that picture is all I'm sayin'! Maybe it's the lighting.
