few weeks after the above photoshoot, i was driving on the highway on my way back from the airport. Some drunk driver got off the highway heading my way and almost got tboned. Thank goodness it wasnt a tbone, I walked away with no serious injuries, but enough pain to go to the hospital and keep me off work since the 21st of September. Till today i still cant get back to work. My brother took out all of my audio stuff out of the GXP before they towed the car, rims are still on and many other aftermarket equipment, i'm hoping to get them back. insurance still didnt call me with the price.

This was one amazing machine, I will do it all over again if i can in the near future.

and that piece of *shoot* 300C was a rental.

Looking at the pictures, the GXP definitely did win the fight
RIP

This picture kinda explains what happened, he was totally wasted

ugh... so sorry to hear. Glad that you weren't more seriously hurt, the Bonneville was probably a better car to be in for circumstances like this. I always loved your GXP - it showed me that a 2000+ Bonneville could make 20" rims work real well.

Did the guy get charged real good?

Airport Road..Highway 69? I've worked over in Gregoire park lots.
Sorry to see that!!
What a nice car it was, too bad, people still choose to get behind the wheel after drinking.

This GXP might be totaled, but it definitely can be fixed again- I have seen worse than this one repaired and put back on the road. I have repaired cars this damaged that were driven again for years. Did insurance pay you for it.? I wish I could buy it and fix it.

That's a great shame. It was an amazing looking car - the all black look works well on it and its nice to see a car that has been modified tastefully.

Like I said in your other thread, It's great that you walked away...thank H-body structure for being protective...
Sucks to see it go, if that were me and my car I would be in the jail cell instead of that bastard and he'd be dead... :btruestory:
In all seriousness though, This is why I can't stand, hate even, drunk drivers...being in a cop family I hear about way too many of those people both on the road and being put into my Father's lockup...There should be hell for that guy to get his license back, who knows how much worse this could have been.
Good Luck on your next car Sam! :beerchug: Can't wait to see what you do next.

Still can't get over this one...What a beautiful car, so many hours of hard work, sweat and money into that car to make it unique and such a head turner.

Looking at those pictures, the GXP certainly won that impact. I can't believe how it withheld that straight on impact of the 300C. Sure satisfies me knowing that if the situation to arise and I were to get in an accident, at least im riding in one of the safest vechiles on the road...

Anxious to see what you land for your next car! Even if its not a GM...haha

Hi guys

Thank you all for the warm replies. I'm doing much better, still unable to make it to work though. I start physiotherapy on Monday and I'll be doing it for approx 7 months :( i should be able to start work within 2 weeks.

He was charged quite a bit, but that's not gonna heal my back any sooner or keep him in jail. Sadly our system sucks.

Even though settlement might take a while, I'm already looking at a replacement car. Thanks to our local GM dealer i will be no longer driving a GM vehicle, i got into a big fight with the service manager a week before the accident. I heard from some staff few days later that i am banned from going there? Lol this is so awesome!

Thanks again people, I will buy another Bonneville one day and make it nice and pretty again.

Do you still have the Escalade? At least you have that to roll in, lol.

That's asinine about the Service Manager thing...

Man that sucks, I know how it feels to have something ripped away like that. Except i was senselessly riding with the drunk. Good thing the collision wasnt worse. Take some time and rebound from this.
