2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins

Post by Darrel »

I've had this truck for over a month now but I've been WAY to busy to even think about doing much to clean it up and snap some pics. Finally got the time so here it is.

I've taken a clay bar to it to get rid of all the little orange spots on the paint, cleaned the interior and shampooed everything and just recently bought all new rubber. 3 out of 4 wheels had about 1.5" - 2" cracks on the inside lip so I decided to go with new wheels too. She's rollin on 285/75's (or about 33") now. :) Minor rubbing in the wheel well at a hard turn but not too bad. It'll never be off road as it's only 2WD so this was all just for good looks.

I LOVE IT!

(wonder why? )

seriously though..make sure to keep an eye on your rust..and catch it early..the earlier the better :helpsmilie:

all it needs now is a CB antenna and some tow mirrors (140-180 a piece) :bhuh:

Yeah the Rams get the door rust and wheel well rust pretty bad. This one has it JUST starting. I'm going to have the rockers Linex'd this fall before the salt gets dropped. I'll be doing the Rockers, around the wheel wells, bed rails and tailgate. Going to do the white linex with the UV additive as well, gotta keep it looking nice!

Nothing much done right now. Silencer ring removed from the turbo and oversized tires are about it. I'd like to do a CAI in the spring. The trans is all original as far as I know and research suggests that more than 30 hp over stock will blow a stock tranny out. SO, with that in mind I won't be chipping or much more than the CAI until I have the cash to rebuild the trans.

She does have some high mileage issues to work out though, so that take priority. it is a 185,000 mile truck...

*dang* good looking body for 185K miles :eek2:

miles 6 years older with ony 103K n its farrr from being that pretty :banghead: and due to money issues i wont be able to keep the truck to fix it to that point

Should update the headlights. I've seen Rams of that gen with cleaner looking headlights, I think the glass was more clearer than that?

Otherwise, looks great!
