Key won't open trunk anymore

My ignition key was working fine to open the trunk lid until I had to haul something large enough that I had to tie the trunk lid down. As soon as I closed it and tried to reopen it, the key just turns like normal but doesn't unlatch. The remote and the glove box button work fine. Can anyone help with this problem?.....Thanks

It sounds like a tumbler problem to me or possibly what ever causes the key to open to latch, but I'm not 100% sure.

I pulled the carpet back on the trunk lid and found a white clip/connector had fallen off the latch. Pushed it back on...Fixed! Thanks
