I decided to switch my stock head unit for a aftermarket kenwood headunit. The wiring harness I used was a Scosche GM07B. I wired everything up correctly and the stereo wouldnt turn on or anything. Does anyone know what might be the solution?

Have you checked fuses? Are you positive you wired up switched and constant and ground correctly?

Yea everything is wired up correctly. There is also power going to the unit because when I press the eject button the cd comes out. I just dont know why it wont turn on?

This sounds more like a problem with the player. You will have to check and make sure it really is getting the switched power from the harness. If it isn't then we need to figure out why. And if it is then something else is wrong

Have you gotten a test light or voltmeter to hook up to the wires and test them yet? We need to know if the wire is outputting the switched power or not before we can start to diagnose

I had this same problem. At first I wired the red wire (the ignition remote wire) from the radio to the orange wire on the harness (the lights). This works somewhat decently; the only downside is that you have to have your fog lights on if you want to have the radio on. If your car has a sunroof...I STRONGLY suggest wiring the ignition wire from the radio to the wire that has power when the ignition is on in the sunroof control panel of the ceiling of the car. This is what I did and it worked great. The wire can easily be concealed by the trim and run underneath the steering wheel. ADDED BONUS: if your stock car stereo had the feature where the radio would stay on if the car was off but all the doors were still shut, wiring the radio to the sunroof would keep this setting (because the windows operate with the same RAP functionality). I suppose if you don't have a sunroof, you could probably wire it into the drivers side window....but that sounds like a pain in the buttocks.
Hope this helps!! I just installed mine a couple of weeks ago.

What was the color of the wire from the sunroof that you used?

what ive done in the past one some cars is there is red, yellow, and blue wires comming out of the back of the stereo. you already should connect the red to red. but try connecting the yellow and blue ones form the back of the stereo into the red connection. try one wire then the other then try both and see if it works. i will say that this doenst work all the time but for some stereos it will fix the problem
