Most likely its your catalytic converter...the honeycomb innards have come apart.
Thats what happened on both of my bonnies. Get a new one off ebay....its a lot cheaper.

Try crimping the metal around the perimeter of the heat shield that covers the cat.

Jack one side of the car up (use jackstands) and kick the cat side to side and up and down.

Could be resonator or muffler. Could also be the thin metal heat shields under the car that runs pretty much the length of the exhaust under the car, between the exhaust piping and the floorboard. The latter was the problem on my 94 SE. Look for loose bolts on the heat shield, or contact between the exhaust pipe and the heat shield. I had both problems.

Could also be the down pipe.

My Monte had a problem with the resenator (more then once). I don't know if the Bonnies have them. If they do, Willwren gave you the best advice (he was referencing a CAT, but same idea applies). I got the Monte in the air and with the palm of my hand slapped the parts of the exhaust concluding with a bad resenator.

Did it start immediately after having an alignment, or any work done to the suspension, or engine/transmission mounts replaced? If so, it's a heat shield. Took two mechanics and me two years to find it. Actually, it was me crawling around under the car till I found it. - BC
