$6000... What do you guys think? bought for $4000, had s/c, lim, valve cover gaskets replaced, Dropped the pan, new filter , Trans go shift kit , new axles, new rear shocks, Intense stage one kit w 3.4 pulley, JVC arsenal double din, aeroforce scan gauge, brand new Bridgestone Turanza Serenity tires , ( 500 miles ) .. Very clean inside and out, 171K miles
I love the car, but its just to unpractical for me at the moment.. SO its all bad timing :(

Go for it!

Gotta remember most people don't give a crap about what mods you've made. Plus 171k is starting to get up there.

Why is it impractical for you?
But yeah 6k is a good price if they are willing.

If you're ok with $6k for it, go for it.
Jake, he delivers Amsoil and drives a lot, and I think he wants something with better mileage, especially since his GA was totalled.

Exactly ... I dont WANT to sell it, but its one of those things were you might want to cut your losses before they grow anymore.. Even tho I got a great deal on the car , I think its worth more, as most ppl trying to sell their cars do.. Hell I bought it leaking antifreeze out the LIM and coolant elbows, the tires were $700, the aeroforce and the double din were $1000, So were already at 5700 + Tax/title / license = 6100, plus mods, shocks, axles.. Theres over 7K invested, including the car, but I dont even know what to ask for it..

You will never recoup what you have invested. It's basically a law (antique cars are exempt)
I put way too much money into my Bonneville and did I recoup that? No because I knew I wouldn't and I was fine with that.
I paid 7g for my Bonneville years ago, put maybe an extra 3,000 in it and sold it for 3 grand five or whatever years later.

Pull the tires and the mods... Then sell for $6000. I have some decent tires if interested.

What are you going to replace it with? Any car for $6,000 will be used, and start having similar problems you've encountered.

Suggestion only and IIRC, someone has posted it in another thread;
Don't sell to family or friends. Every time something happens, you get a call from them. Youngest son sold his pickup to someone he never saw before and for the first couple of months every time the buyer thought something was wrong, they called him. Thankfully he made it very clear when he sold it, sold as is, no warranty.
I think 6K is a great price and haro is correct, pull the mods. - BC

Ok you are having a hard time selling your car. We all do to a point.
But if the need to get rid of it out weighs the need to keep it, sell it.
Make the price $6500 OBO over ???? that way you can get what you think is fair and who ever buys it will feel like they got a good deal too.
Lets face it what would a dealer get for it? Use that as a selling point too.
If you have a list of up grades and sales slips show those too.
Are some of the upgrades able to be removed easily? Do you have the stock pieces?
If so you can sell the upgrades here.

4500 for a 97? wow.. maybe I should ask 6500

yeah had it on kijiji for 1 hour at $4300, had 9 emails, 3 propb not legit. But called 1st one I got with phone number. Shown her the car, said she had identical one but green with 294k, said she just loves the car. wanted same one so replied to my ad. didnt bark at price, agreed to pay full price. wanted me to take it to mechanic and my wife and i literally had zero chance of getting to a shop to safety. alot going on at home etc. so it gave us 3 days to find a replacement on kijiji and found nothing under $4500 for decent k, rust free with no issues. so much junk. so we decided to keep it. then the intake puked 3 days later. now its all fixed and its listed for $4500 cert. had a few emails already but alot of people are talk no action.. so if you have a potential buyer willing to give you what you want, take it. only reason we are selling it is to buy something to accomodate our large dog. i will notput the dog in the car. until we bought it no one ever sat in the pass seat let alone in the rear.until my son sat in it. was a 90 yr old mans car.Ill let it goffor the $300 i wanted intially even though I dumped $800 into this week.SH*T happens.

IMHO $6500 or for that matter $6000 seems very steep for a car with that many miles and having been modded.. You will only get what someone is willing to pay for the car, that could be $7,000 or it could be $2,000. Cars are the worst investments going, you put all this money into them and the % return is horrible.. i also agree with 1oldman about selling to friends or family, but you know the people better than we do so it could be a fine deal. Hope whatever choice you make works out
