Go with a Magnaflow high flow cat. Shop around though, Auto Zone isn't always the cheapest.

Get one offline. you can get just the cat and have a shop weld it in.

I ordered a direct-fit Magnaflow unit for my '98 from Amazon for about 120 bucks. Not a bad deal, IMO.

Friends don't let friends Autozone. They are by far the worst auto parts chain on the planet.

We're getting off topic. How about we suggest a few sources for the part he needs?

Find the part you want, then check Amazon for that part number. I've ordered a number of parts from Amazon for cheaper prices than most places.

Amazon has what I think is the Hi-Flow catalytic converter direct fit for $114.88 plus shipping.

Magnaflow OEM 46204
Magnaflow Hiflow(?) 24204

Amazon

Amazon quite often beats everyone else's price. even eBay - BC

$114? Holy cow. I've never paid over $65 for a Magnaflow High-Flow Cat. FYI, Carsound IS Magnaflow if that helps.

Magnaflow 94006 is what you want, it's a 2.5" In and out HF cat. You'll need to have an exhaust shop weld it in though.
