Temp Gauge and Fuel Gauge!?

Post by Dalton2510 »

I bought my Bonneville about 2 weeks ago and I am just getting down to about a quarter of a tank and my fuel gauge will do the sweep and then sometimes it stays at full then slowly goes down to about how much fuel I have but it sometimes stops with more fuel then I hard the last time or less fuel.... also i'm not sure if this is a problem or not maybe its just me being paranoid about my new car but my Temp gauge seems to go up so fast compared to my old 93 Buick PA its almost instantly at 150 to 180 degrees within the first 2 blocks i have i drive it then it takes awhile to get to 200 degrees and it never has gone above 200. if anyone has and information i would be very thankful.

I'm new to the club too. My 2001 SE has the same sticking fuel level sensor issue that you mentioned in your post.

harofreak sent me this link:

If you are mechanically inclined, it is an easy fix. I'm waiting for the replacement part to arrive this week so I can do the repair.

that does seem really simple and it will probably save a bunch of money to do it myself. Where did you order that part from I see some on ebay but im don't really like buying off ebay

The ebay ones will work just fine, but you can get it at the dealer as well. The part number is listed in the beginning of that article, cost is about $45 I think.

The part number is: 15824379. Local GM dealer said it was special order so I ordered on-line from:

http://gmpartshouse.com/search.html

The part was $28.15 plus $9.95 UPS ground shipping ($38.10). It probably would have been quicker through the local dealer, but since he has a monopoly on all the GM business, they have a take it or leave it attitude.
