Power Steering Leak!

Post by Tuffguy610 »

Hey everybody,
I have a power steering fluid leak that seems to be coming from the steering wheel input shaft. Its leaking a decent amount and the pump is starting to whine. Can I just change out the seal or will the whole rack need to be changed? If I change the rack, I am pretty sure I will need an alignment right? My other option is to let the leak go since the car is old and on its last leg. Will I mess anything up if I let it go? Any advice is appreciated. I am on the fence about getting a new car but looking to squeeze a little more life out of this thing!
