Buy low, do the repair work yourself, sell for retail prices. Rinse, lather, repeat...

I agree. If you have to farm out anything you're not going to make as much money. Some things you have to (PDR, tire mounting), but if you buy it with a bad trans, you can't take it to a shop and have them do it.
You also have to be able to do all that Andrew does, the interior cleaning, the module swapping, splicing wires, etc. He also has a HUGE parts stash, so he has everything he needs in case something else is wrong with his flips. You will be at a disadvantage there.

Re: buying 2000+ project bonnevilles
the one i found has a motor knock and needs some paint work. i know a lot of people and can get some good deals on things.
thats true 00Beast.
if i could get it cheap enough i could always use it as a parts car... my dad has a storage spot where he stores some of his parts cars.

Don't start with one that needs paint. Leave that alone completely or do it for your 5th or 6th flip.
Don't buy one with a knock unless you've already found a motor and done the math before you buy it.

Re: buying 2000+ project bonnevilles
Andrew started out with simpler flips, and built up a parts supply to enable him to do more complex ones and still make good money. To get the interiors looking as nice as him would kill most of your profits getting new parts unless you got a real good deal on it. Also be prepared to fix a lot of stuff the seller didn't tell you about. Andrew finds surprises with many of his flips, that cost extra money and time to fix that wasn't in the budget initially. Just make sure you pick the cars carefully that you flip, and don't just grab the first ones that you see because your excited... you will get burned if you do.

I wouldn't buy a car that needs any body work. Unless they are removable pieces that you have already found.
You also have to be very careful on buying low enough and be ready to walk away if you can't get it for the price you want it and the seller may just change their mind.
