Got the starter problem fixed on my wife's 2000 SE but still have a gremlin in the system somewhere. Car has about 125k miles on it. Sometimes around 1500 rpm's the car will cut out, missfire, buck, stumble, whatever you want to call it. I've checked the electrical connections, especially around the battery and the floor pan. I've also visually checked the vacuum lines, plug wires, fuses and anything else I could see. I've also cleaned the MAF sensor. I have a scanner and it's not throwing any codes. I could use some help determining what the problem is. Thanks.

More often then not this turns out to be a spark issue.

You mention you visually checked the spark plugs and spark plug wires.
Did you check the wires with an ohm meter?
How old are the plugs and what is the gap?

Now that you mention it, it has been probably 60k miles since I put new plugs and wires on it. I'll install a set this week and see if that helps.

also...when my MAF sensor went bad, it bucked for nearly a month before it threw a code. when these things happen, the best thing is to methodically eliminate each possibility. Starting with plugs/wires is a great choice.

For plugs, I would use ACDelco Iridium plugs which are manufactured by NGK. Wires, I used what the parts place supplied me with.

Ok guys, finally got around to replacing the plugs and wires, cleaned the MAF and replaced the bad O2 sensor. Not throwing any codes now but still cutting out. My wife said it died on her twice today, once while sitting at a light and the other time while slowing down to stop. The car idles fine, not losing any coolant, oil and transmission fluid are normal. Where do I go from here? TPS?
