I am having some trouble with these self leveling air shocks. I have already replaced the shocks once but now I think it is something wrong with the compressor. I looked at the price for the compressor and I really dont know if it is worth it. I looked at Rock Auto for the Shock Absorber conversion kit and I would like to know if anyone has done that to their Bonnie?

There are things to check before jumping straight for the compressor. When you first start the car, do you hear the compressor come on? Compressor is located right above the right tailpipe / muffler.

Have you checked the fuses?

Yes, the compressor kicks on and it fills up the shocks. After awhile I would feel my car jump up like I have been hit in the rear then the compressor kicks back on. It is really old thats why I am thinking about just going to some regular Monroe shocks. As for the fuses, no.

I would check your level sensor. Sounds like it might have a dead spot. It connects to the driver's side control arm on the rear.

Also check for any leaks in the tubing.

How do I check the level sensor and what I am looking? I'm just a rookie at this car maintenance stuff.. Lol

I would use an OHM meter on the pins where the connector goes in and see if it goes to 0 anywhere, or doesn't go up in spots. You want to see steadily increasing or decreasing resistance (or voltage, I'm not sure how this one runs) from the low to high positions.

Well, I haven't had the time to fully check it out yet. Now, it is sounding like a semi truck when it goes. The compressor kicks on, fills them up, then I hear a rush of air come out just like a semi truck stopping. This car is just full of troubles for me, but I refuse to give her up.

You don't want to bypass with regular shocks nobody has had success with them. Sounds like you have a leak somewhere to me. Also check the top shock mounts behind the carpet in the trunk and see if they are holding, somebody (harofreak00 I believe) has a video of a bad shock mount letting the rod push through
