Suprised new member from South Carolina

Post by palmettosunshine »

Well hello all!

First time here. I had NO idea when I woke up this morning that I would be a Bonneville owner before the end of the day. Can't say that the Bonneville ever really crossed my mind, and I wasn't looking specifically for one. Just happened to have that perfect storm of old car pissing me off (1998 Deville) and a customer trading in the absolutely perfect car for the right price. Yes, I am a car salesman  but I'd like to think I'm one of the good guys! Anyway, I found a 2005 GXP with 66k, one owner, dealer serviced it's whole life and just gorgeous.

I took it home at lunch, my wife and son approved, and the rest is history! Looking forward to finding out more about these great cars (they stopped making them about 5 years before I got in the car business, so I really don't have any experience with them although I traded my 1998 Cadillac Deville and know a little about the N*) and hopefully meeting some nice folks here.

Greetings from the coast of South Carolina!

Frederick

PS - pics to come when I get some decent ones with my camera, not the cell phone!

Sounds kind of like my story. Last fall, I went from a '97 Deville to a Bonneville, but mine isn't anywhere near as pretty as yours. I finally sold the Deville last week. Can't say I really miss it, especially with gas back over $3 again.

What part of coastal SC are you from? Growing up, I spent a lot of time in Garden City and Litchfield.

Hi Human!

I don't want to be too specific about my location because of all the nut cases out there, but I'm north of those areas you mentioned, yet only minutes away so that should give you a pretty good idea.....

Beautiful GXP! I have always been a fan of white GM cars, especially that white tri-coat color. For the record that is one of my dream cars. Congrats on the new ride and welcome to the club.

Welcome to Bonneville ownership and to Pontiac Bonneville Club!! :)

I spent Thanksgiving up near your area while visiting my daughter and her family, who've just moved to SC. Low country!

Oh, and nice car!

Welcome, I am going from a 99 regal to a 97 SSEi purchased recently and I REALLY enjoy the Bonne. I think you'll also enjoy the sporty handling, ride and styling. I also found this club my first night as a Pontiac Owner and this club is awesome. So much help and knowledge, really responsive and all about helping us all get the most enjoyment from our Bonnevilles.
