Hello from Georgia

Post by sm in Georgia »

Where we had a white Christmas for the first time in 128 years.

My 2000 Bonneville took the snow in stride. Although she did throw her serpentine belt and the idler pulley was toast - having heat issues since but I addressed these issues on another page!!

Bought my 2000 Bonneville in 2007 - My kids range from 22 to 7 (total of 6 plus 2 grandsons now) Traded my old 95 Taurus - wanted something sexy!! My girl has a sun roof, and is very comfortable, and defintely sexier than the Taurus!! only have 2 kids ride with me now so it is perfect!! She does have some imperfections - the radio no longer displays so I have to guess what station!! The Brake light etc is permanently on and the track control does not work but I understand that is a sensor. And my trunk leaks - I thought it was because I got the back window replaced when it was shot out but a punk kid over by the middle school, but reading on here, sounds like it is a common problem.

Feels like a real sports car with the battery under the back seat. Funny story -had to get the battery replaced when I first got it- the guy told me to pop the hood, I explained not under the hood, under the back seat. He muttered about women and went and got his boss. SO I popped the hood. Then they got all concerened they could not find the battery. So AGAIN I told them where it was. Finally they believed me!!

Again, welcome!! Glad you found us.

As far as bulbs, member harofreak00 can do it for you: http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... =18&t=7449

Check Techinfo for the trunk leaks. Common areas are the spoiler, 3rd brake light, trunk seal or the tail-light reflector. Best way is to crawl in the trunk with a flashlight and have someone run water over the trunk and see where it is leaking from.

The ABS/Trac Off light is more than likely a bad wheel speed sensor, or wiring.

Welcome to the forum... A lot of the issues you have are common issues with these cars like Ed pointed out...lol

I have had the trunk leak, Had the ABS/TRAC and Brake light on, I ended up replacing the ABS/TRAC pump to fix the problem... My Stereo lights are going out one by one as well...LOL

@ JRS 3800

Did you resolve the trunk issue? I was told by a shop that the problem with the ABS/Brake was a sensor but I cant remember what it was called

Going to check out the techinfo like 000Beast suggested - I have considered using some silicone

I think iirc my leak was a tail lamp... Forget what the issues was with it.. But since then the trunk has been dry..

Howdy neighbor!

The radio in mine also went black (before I owned it) and the PO replaced it at our dealership.

@Palmettosunshine

Hello neighbor

Nice that the Po replaced before you got it!! mine worked fine when I got it then one day -NADA. I think it is Andrew on here who replaces the bulbs - but I have to remove my radio and send it to him - then live without TUNES until I get it back, and get it put back in. Unfortunately, I dont do radios. Fortunately, I sleep with my mechanic (my hubby!!) so maybe I can my radio fixed. But now I have a whole honey do/honey help me do list of repairs that I have learned on this forum I can do to make my car run better or at least me cosmetic improvements, etc!! My new years resolution is to fix the fuel gauge, the oil sending sensor, the abs/brake light issue (sensor) and the leaking trunk.

I love Myrtle Beach - do you golf? Went to a place called the Pines once to play.
