Replacing LIM gasket, one quick question about TB removal

Hi,
I am having some fun tearing apart the LIM. I have some problem to remove the TB because one bolt is blocked by TB bracket. Some one suggested to push away the bracket to give enough clearance. I want to if I can ubolt UIM with TB as a whole piece, then remove the TB?

Thanks.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can remove the UIM and TB as one piece.

That is a nice shortcut if it works out -- please let us know how it goes!

If you do wind up having to push that bracket aside, know that I did it a couple months ago and found it easy to move with the claw of a hammer for leverage. It was a little tricky getting it reattached when I pushed it back afterward, because the holes did not line up enough to get the bolt back in, and many "adjustments" with a hammer and screwdriver were required to get it realigned. At one point I accidentally bashed one of the sensors with the hammer and broke a small piece off, so be very careful if you find yourself in the same situation (or maybe take the sensor out to be safe). Despite this annoyance (the sensor was fine; just a little exposed at the electrical connection), it was still MUCH easier than removing the exhaust crossover pipe to get at the covered-up TB bolt.

Yes, it works. I took out UIM and TB as a whole piece. Then unbolt TB from UIM for a complete cleaning.
