Projector retrofit!

Ok so I'm considering doing a retrofit on the gxp!

After talking to the people over at the retrofitsource.com I've decided to go with a this kit.
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/produc ... cts_id=227

here is my dilemma, this is a bi xenon kit which is all fine and well and will work with my stock highs but I want a quad projector setup because I think it will look funny with only 1 projector in each headlight.

other than the sts lights that loong4 used anyone know of any other options for a halogen projector?

what do you guys think about the single projector vs a dual setup as far as looks are concerned?

There are a few retrofits with only one projector here. It doesn't look bad, I prefer the look of two obviously because of how it makes the headlight so dark and sleek looking. I think either way you go will be sweet. There are literally hundreds to choose from. Check eBay too. My advice is get 4300 HID's. I've outgrown the "blue" look.

Thanks for the reply loong! I didn't kno if u were still around here! I love the look of your lights which is what made me wanna do this project! The site I listed has single projectors but none for halogen highbeams! The price is right there which is why I wanna buy from there plus they seem reputable and have good reviews! They suggested I could do 2 sets of bi xenon but that might be over kill lol! I was also thinking of doing 5k because I don't want a blue tint and I've read that 5k is a pure white light and 4300k is an off white

If I were you, the first thing I would do would be buy a set of standard set of bonneville housings, as your GXP headlights are worth too much to the rest of us stock to cut up. Then you can do your projector setup, etc.

I'll have go over there and see what his setup is! My issue is I don't want hid high beams because of the warm up time! I don't live in the country or use my highs very often but if I need to I wanna be able to.

Also with those bi xenons I posted there is a good chance I want have to cut because they are a smaller projector but I won't kno until I have them!

Tough to use a bix or single xenon in the high position because theres no aiming capability built in. The quad look is killer though. I dig the hex projector setup.

Yea I'm probably gonna go the bix route and try to put the chrome reflector back in. I dont think I've seen anyone and i could be wrong on the that put it back in on the bonnevilles. is it a fitment issue? the projectors I'm gonna get are supposed to be small so I guess we'll see. how long should this take? few hours or few days? I saw where some people said it took them awhile.

The headlamps that 1993 SLE used came off of a Caddy in the JY. Cost was very low. You might want to consider that route.

It took me several days (perhaps close to a week) to do my double projector setup in the LeSabre. Well worth it though. Probably 24 hours or so solid work time.

Generally it's just easier to mount the projector without that reflector. I removed my reflector too.

Nice thing about using the reflector is keeping the stock adjusters. Also, you can paint the reflector black and get kind of a mean look out of it.

After looking at the kit youre looking at, you sort of have to leave your reflectors in. If my thoughts on the subject are to be believed, you'd be better off with an OEM type projector like an FX.

well the reason I was gonna put the reflector back in was because it would better match with the highbeam and not make it stand out so much. i think if i paint the housing for the projector it would stand out like a sore thumb, any thoughts on that?

I originally emailed the people on TRS about the TSX projectors because I read they were a good choice. and they recommended those mini projectors for my application or the TSX. obviously those are a smaller projector so I thought based on looong4's post about angel eyes not fitting I thought I would do the smaller projector and those might fit better and leave room for the angel eyes but I with only 1 projector now idk if I'll do that because I think it might look funny?

Also why does it take so long to do? I was thinking this could be achieved in a few hours or like half a day. I'm ballin on a budget and was trying not to buy an extra set of headlights lol

If you want more light, get the HIR2 low beams if your headlights have the front of the headlight bulb covered. It won't be the blingy HID look. It will be lots more usable light on the road.

Plus, they're $75 shipped, and take 30 minutes to trim and install.

The mini h1s arent the only thing that'll fit, Ive got fx in mine and depth is a little tight, but it works. My shrouds are chrome and my reflector is flat black. Looks a little less blindingly CHROME than otherwise.

I looked into doing that but I have decided against it because I want more of a unique look something no Bonneville around here has!
