Hvac problems
Hvac problems
OK my car blows hot only and wont change. Also only blows from floor vents and defrost vents. I disconected the rod to the heat exchange door and it moves like i assume it should with no restristions. But I can change it manually for now. I then removed the control box that the vacuum lines go into. I have vacuum inside the box, so connector isn't sucking shut. Now my guestion is which is most likely to go out the contol unit in the dash or the box under the dash with the vacuum lines goen to it, that bolt to the heater core box.

Re: Hvac problems
You problem is the vacuum. Either you have a cracked or rotted connector under the hood on the vacuum line that comes into the passenger compartment or the line is off at the vacuum storage box on the firewall.96ssei wrote:OK my car blows hot only and wont change. No vacuum leaves the diaphragms in the defrost position for safety.
Here's a likely problem: the connector on the corner of the electronic programmer box behind the glovebox.

But if the electric actuator moves easily to change the blend door that mixes the air for different temperatures, that may be cracked in side and the gear is slipping on the axle. I took mine off (yours is very hard to get to the two screws compared to the leSabre) and put glue on the gear and the axle so they're stuck together even though the gear is cracked. At 180000 miles I'm will to take a change it'll last long enough.
