How to get the whine?
ive read that a fwi or gutted air box will allow the whine to be heard. but after i fixed the coupler and gutted the air box, i still dont hear it? the gauge shows its making boost. the car does need fresh plugs and wires but even so it should whine shouldnt it?

Re: How to get the whine?
The whining sound comes from the straight-cut gears in the nosedrive. The stock airbox blocks/dampens that sound by design. Typically an open-cone intake, preferably an FWI outside the engine bay, is what it takes to get an M90 to whine or broadcast it's sound.
The M90 will never whine like the M62, because the M62 spins faster, therefore producing a higher frequency. The M90 will whine, just not as loud or as high of a pitch.

Re: How to get the whine?
ok. what do you recommend doing for a pcm tray? it looks like 96 and 97 have ones twice the size of all the others.
