Rear Air Suspension Question

Well I had my car in for service and they informed me that my Air shocks on my LeSabre are leaking and have to be replaced. They quoted $350 to do the job, but unfortunately I won't have that kind of money for a couple months, and my parents aren't any better off, so I'm left with two options:

1) Let it go until I get the money together to fix the car, which it will be 2-3 months and they said that I will be very lucky if the shocks last that long. I don't like this idea, I've had a spring fail on me while driving, and it scared the living hell out of me, and I don't know what will happen if one of the shocks blows while I'm going down the road.

2) Replace the shocks myself, with help from my dad. I have done work on cars before I know how to turn a wrench or two. This is what my dad and I are considering doing.

There is a warranty on the car, but it only covers the engine and transmission so it is not covering this repair.

So I've been looking up prices of new shocks on eBay and a set of Munroe air shocks for this car go for $61.86 plus $14.44 shipping, for a total of $76.30.

These are the shocks I'm looking at, are they the right ones for my car? And are any special tools needed to do them?

Those are the right shocks, and they are about the easiest shocks to replace. Two bolts on the bottom...those can become corroded so spray some penetrant to help...two bolts on top (inside the trunk - pull back the carpet to see them...and the shock rod bolt. Support the vehicle properly, and to be safe, keep a jack under the control arm.

I doubt that they will "blowout" on you. Of course the mechanics shop is going to try and scare you into that. I'd buy the parts myself and do it in the driveway. Rear struts are easy since there aren't any springs on them.
