234k/16 year old interior refresh

Post by 95naSTA »

I've had a few things I've been wanting to do to my interior over the past year or so but none of it was real urgent.. My headliner was starting to go, a few parts were cracked, and the caret had seen better days. The rear of my headliner finally let go and that was the last straw.

So, here is what I got done yesterday and today:

Redid the headliner/sunroof shade/visors in charcoal suede
Hooked up the rear sunroof drains and used shrink tubing to keep them in place
Replaced the front b.s. wireloom drains with tubing similar to the rear
Installed new carpet
Finally replaced my broken *shoot* handle and rear vents (thanks Geoff)
Cleaned all the trim that came out and pretty much everything else
And a few other misc things..

Looks like I have to get rid of that connecting sun roof trim..

New OEM front floor mats are in the mail too
There are still a few things that bother me but that takes care of a lot of it.

Looking really good! Is that the Home Depot lip kit on the front?

Thanks.

That's just the OEM front bumper. I do have plans for a OEMish looking clip on kit though.

I paid $45+shipping for 3 yards of the charcoal suede from yourautotrim.com. And I think I paid 12-15 bucks per can of 3M Super Trim Adhesive (08090) and used 2 of them.

Not bad!

I've been trying to decide if I should do mine and maybe be unhappy with my work, or pay someone to do the headliner.

It's really not that bad. As long as you're careful taking it out, clean the surface real good, stretch the fabric, and weigh it down after, you're good. The visors were more of a PITA than the liner.

How about a pic of the carpet without the flash... it looks almost brown compared to the leather. Headliner looks great though

Will do. It matches the carpet section on the doors pretty good.
