Thanks for helping,
I'm getting ready to replace the front left trans-axle mount (with the small shock attached to it). Any tips on replacing this? I have the Bonneville shop manual but it says to remove the engine frame!
Don't have a lot of room to get the part out once it's detached too...any ideas?
Thanks

You don't have to remove the frame.
You will want to put a jack underneath the oil pan (with scrap wood to keep the pan from being dented). Next, remove the nuts that hold the bottom of the mount to the frame. Jack the whole motor up until the mount studs clear the cradle, then from that point, remove the three mounting bolts from the engine block.
Before you get to that, you will need to remove the trans line support from that mount, and if your car still has it, remove the bottom splash shield. Replacement should take about 30 minutes.
And, for the love of God...DO NOT BUY THAT MOUNT FROM AUTOZONE! Whoever that company whores the jobs to can't seem to get the three block-transmission mounting holes aligned right. You'll get two out of three. Best bet is Napa for fit and quality.

2005 GXP - White Gold Pearl, no mods...yet.
2000 SSEi - Resurrection in progress. Built L67 w/L32 fuel rail, ported heads, and cam. Camaro front brake system, GXP cluster, and much more in planning.

Thanks Sandrock...ordered the part from RockAuto, $47 shipped! Autozone and Oreillys wanted $61+tax.
I wasn't about to remove the frame but I was surprised the shop manual said to. I just had it on jacks too...replaced the whole front end, the alignment guy found the bad mount.
