Need advice on lick-stick scoops...

Discuss washing, waxing and detailing information as well as interior/exterior cosmetic modifications. This includes neons, body, cosmetic wheels, etc. Even under the hood detailing.

Need advice on lick-stick scoops...

Post by fastblackbeauty »

Hey all, I am looking to do some sort of lick and stick (probably Lund) scoops for Black Beauty, and am just looking to get suggestions. I am going to make them functional to bring a little extra air by cutting out the fake front grilles on them and then cutting a hole in the hood under the scoops at the back. The idea I am toying with is to have it look kinda like the Grand AM GT's do, with thier dual nostrils. Any idears? ~Brandon~

Well, don't do it.

If you really want to, then at least don't cut into the hood.

Yeah, I would think the "lick and sticks" would get ripped off with that kind of air flow.

IMO Lund scoops look horribly out of place on any hood. Why? Because so many add them.

FTW, subtle, functional, and proven (not to mention actually from a pontiac to begin with) :

Yeah I deffinately wouldn't cut out a whole for one of those stick on scoops...that just doesn't seem to be a good idea with just the tape holding it down...

if you want something functional I'd do something like ^^ Wren or myself....here are some pics

What you have done, with the trans-am ram air scoops is actually exaclty what I have wanted to do with the 94, but am not sure how it will look. But that was what I was going to try to do originally. :)

If I can't do that, I may just wait and do the ones like Bill has done on Zilla, those do look pretty good. ;)
