Darn water leak....

So,

Today I go to take the rear part of the carpet up behind the front seats to change that padding to the leftover dynamat I have. I pull it up and low and behold...WATER (and lots of it). I quickly check the front and the driver's side infront of the front seat is soaked beyond belief. Needless to say, I removed all seats, the center console, the ducting to the rear and also carpet with padding.

What I found:

Two of the black rectangles that have the oval shapes that protrude upwards had hairline slits in them at the seam where the oval is (this is on the floor we are talking about), one I was able to see the ground. I banged those back flat and also sealed them up with a very strong epoxy.

I ran my hand along the padding that comes from behind the dash and the only wet spot is on the driver's side right behind the emergency brake. Anyone have any thoughts of where to start?

Could be, I guess removing the driver's side A-pillar would be a decently easy start point.

If anyone has any other ideas keep shooting them at me...

Have you ever had all the pillars off? I'd check all 4 drains.

And the door seals are very common.

Door seals I had fixed quite a while back, got an extra entire seal and cut and fit to extend since they contract over the years. Other drains I've had to fix over the years also, this is the only one I think I haven't touched so it is quite possible...

*edit* Just went outside, headliner is dry as a bone. Probably not broken at the sunroof itself, where the others have before. Where does the front left drain line go to, I know it comes down the a-pillar but where does it lead from there?

When I pulled the padding that comes from behind the dash (not the carpet padding) right behind the emergency brake out towards the back of the car, water poured down and it was wet, and only in that spot. About as descriptive as I can get until tomorrow...thoughts?

I know you have a 95, but when I was fixing my 00 water leaks, the line was disconnected right by the parking brake.

Hopefully it's something somewhat simple like that and not a seam that broke cause my old boss/mechanic said that could be too....

Update: Took it to shop today, I took the cowl cover off there, it's leaking inwards somewhere behind the driver's side fender. If you run the water down that way it leaks in, so we've very much localized it. My old boss/mechanic is going to be taking the fender off, finding the hole, sealing it, letting it dry until tomorrow then testing.

Didn't Jrs3800 find a leak in a similar area of his car, after almost tearing it all apart looking for it?

Sucks the pics aren't working. I know that Photobucket cancels accounts now.

FIXED!

$400 later...fender had to come off. Seal in the area near e-brake split in quite a few spots, the overly complicated (what was GM thinking) e-brake was removed and seal was applied from both sides. Now onto mods while interior is apart, dynamat being completed then reassembling interior. Right now I'm driving with a bolted down driver's seat, shifter guts, and al7 controller laying on the floor :eek2:
