What model and brand of scan tool are you using? Do you have a manual for it? I have not heard of that.

The only IPC that I can think of off hand is the instrument panel cluster.

I'm not sure that is what it is asking. If it is, it could be because some data passes through the instrument panel cluster. That's just a guess.

PDF file for the manual. On page 97, the IPC is as Archon stated is for instrument panel cluster. I did not see it mentioned elsewhere, but you might call the tech assist or use the online assistance and ask them.

My snap-on modis used to ask ALMOST the same question about some GM cars, except it would ask if it had a digital odometer. I'll bet that's what they mean by IPC. If you've got a digital odo, then hit yes, otherwise no. Try that.

Either way, it won't have any effect on the way it scans for PCM codes.

after several msg's to acton i am told that yes IPC is instrurment Panel Cluster...it is later called DIC or driver info center.

i dont know why the scanner cares.
