Oil soaked fuel pressure sensor

Hey guys thanks for all the help you offer us club members. For the last 5 months I've been fighting the used engine I had installed. Last night I found the fuel pressure sensor had soaked itself with oil and seperated. Could this have been causing a lot of the problem?(rough idle, miss in #1 or #6cyl, no power above 60mph and sometimes car willnot start when warm, also vac leak? could this cause bad crank sensor code to pop up?

Can you post a picture of what you have? I'm not aware of a fuel pressure sensor. Do you mean fuel pressure regulator? If so, do not drive the car until it is fixed. This usually wouldn't become oil soaked however. Or, is it the oil pressure sensor? Neither should throw a crank sensor code. As for the other problems, hard to say until we know what the part is.

:hail: Hey Archon thanks for the reply. It sets in front of intake manafold. Rockauto.com shows it listed under Air\Fuel-fuel pressure sensor #5S2066. I'm at work so no picture but if you can go Rockauto.com they have great picture of it for 97 SSE. Thanks

That's the MAP sensor, no idea why they call it the "fuel pressure sensor". Why it would be soaked in oil, I have no idea though.

:helpsmilie: Is the PVC valve under it? If not where. I'll change it out.

pcv is under here, unplug the connector on top, twist off the top thing, and the valve sits down in there, be sure to put the o ring back on it, you'll understand when you get it out Image

A little thanks to nunesjeff. That's his car (in my driveway a couple weekends ago for some troubleshooting).
