What is safe/good to use to clean tinted windows? I know windex will make the tint turn purple.. so should I just use water or water with a little dish soap? or how about water and vinegar? I'm only to ideas! Thanks Nick

Make sure you stay away from anything with ammonia in it, that is what turns the tint purple. Just to be sure, I always go to the automotive section and get a name brand glass cleaner that specifically says that it is safe to use on tinted windows.

and .... just for kicks, if one used Windex on the tinted windows...and purple spots show, what would you need to do in removing those spots? I havent done that yet.... but thank God i saw this thread before cleaning the car out this afternoon.

ive never seen a car with purple spots, it just turns the whole tint purple gradually over time, and it starts to peel off.
