Coming from a guy with rockers... Cam it now, don't waste your time/money with rockers.

well, heres the thing, i plan on having both in time anyway,
im kinda copying todds mod list cam and rockers to lighten up the valvetrain

and the rockers i can install over a weekend,
instead of an entire week-2weeks in the garage, (i dont have that kind of time)

You'd be installing rockers twice then. You can't have 1.9 rockers with a cam.

there 1.8 not 1.9 sir ;)

and as far as i know, 1.8 and stage 1 cam = solid build

you can buy a special low lift cam that works with 1.8 and 1.9 rockers and provides the same like as an s1x or xp cams

Try heads too.

I was young once and wanted to copy Todd as well, but that isn't how it works. Doing you're own thing builds a healthier sense of pride.

If you do rockers go 1.9's and you can get away with #90's. Rockers were a noticeable improvement on the 98.

As for "go cam or nothing", I won't jump on that statement yet because the work is not finished on my end, but it does have bearing....unless you blow a trans before a cam crossed your mind.

ok, well heres my plans for wat i have now,
wat im ordering and wat i want by the time im done

my current build is in my sig

im ordering 1.8.1 rockers and a few other goodies for the valvetrain
im also getting 105 valve springs, not 90. idk who said i was getting 90

after that, im not doing anything to the engine
im putting everything twards trans parts after that

then once the trans is built,
ill be getting stage 2 possibly 3 heads
and eventually the cam

my eventual goal is for 400whp, or 12.99 which ever comes first

I'd recommend replacing the stock retainers.

valve cover gaskets, assembly lube, compression tester with an air hold, air compressor, torque wrench, oil change, coolant elbows (you have to take the alternator bracket off to get the rear VC off) and i think that's it.

coolant elbows?
i dont have to break them or anything o.0

both upper and lower are new

Why 105's on 1.8's?

Why 1.8's instead of 1.9's?

Fuel injector o-rings, supercharger gasket, two yellow o-rings, coolant elbows, valve cover gaskets (grommets should be good), coolant, oil, filter, etc.

1.8 because i wanna do a cam in the next year also
105 because 90 seem a little weak for wat im planning to do

"Seem" and "are" are two different terms. 105's are a bit much for 1.8's IMO.

My advice is to 1.9 now and forget the cam, or cam now and forget the 1.8's.

105# still work with 1.8 tho correct?
cuz for when i get the cam as well,
i know ill need 105 to handle both cam and rockers

I think you're making a big mistake, and I'm going to strongly discourage you from that combination. Your choices from many logical standpoints should be 1.9 rockers OR a cam. If not ready to cam yet, save, and start getting ready. A new 2k cam install Techinfo is in the works right now, and is almost ready for release.
