I had my down pipe replaced today. $80. took a little bit of modification. There may be a small exhaust leak. I can't be sure yet. I'll take it in on Tuesday If I still hear it. No noticeable improvement in performance, but no rattle and no recurring code is great.
I also replace the bulb in my shift selector stick. Of course I broke the prong. BTW A modified Bic pen cap works great

I drove it for the first time after 7 days today and put a full tank of gas in it.
Being apart from her for a such a long time really makes me appreciate the car. Especially the sound system.

New transmission oil cooler as of yesterday. Should stop it dripping trans fluid everywhere!

Changed the hydraulic fluid in the plow. Next thing is that i'm going to repaint the mouldboard. I really wish Western would've come back with a way to pre-bleed pressure, as no matter how slow you undo the drain bolt on the motor, to let it seep, that last millimeter of thread, and "SPLOOSH" the front of the truck and the A-frame on the plow gets soaked...
As I was in the middle of this, the wife called, the RGC wouldn't start. Went over and load tested the battery, and it was very weak. The ONE benefit for working for sears, I had gotten a Diehard Gold a couple years back when the OEM battery *shoot* the bed (this thing chews through them with all the power sliding doors, lift gates, etc...). Complete free replacement as it was within the warranty.

I drive the SSEi about once a week these days. Yesterday I capped off the SC bypass valve; found out I run out of fuel injector at 15psi compounded at 4500rpm. But up to that point it pulls so hard I can't put more than 1/2 throttle down, and the noises coming from the engine bay..

I really need E85 and fuel injectors and to tune for this!!

I drove mine to the end of my block and found out I still seem to have an electrical problem.

Put just over 300 miles and almost 11 gallons into the car, which was pleasing. Especially since half of them were through a rainy hail storm and traffic.
Oh and I cleaned up the interior.

Over the weekend I did the rear brakes on the GS, both rotors and pads (first time I've ever done brakes :o). Gonna hit up the junkyard next paycheck for some F-body calipers and caliper brackets, but will probably replace my fuel lines first.

I dug into the 04 and cleaned every ground I could find, and found that the ground on the trans was loose. It seems alright but since that car hates me right now I'll have to give it a day or so to see if it helped. (Matt, it does have a ground under the ICM after all) Then I got under my roommate's Cherokee and tightened up the flywheel bolts because it was making quite a racket (common issue with those). It's quiet now.

Well boredom took over and I went back outside and put new horns from the junkyard on the 96 because it sounded like somebody stepping on a duck. That was way more complicated than it needed to be.
Take off the strut brace, washer bottle, fuse box, battery, then the horn assembly. Then before you put it all together make sure the horn works so put the battery back in, test the horn, take the battery back out, finish wiring and mounting the horn, and then put the whole thing back together. Whew.

I tested the pump I posted above last night and it works. But it makes you wonder how the heck it accomplishes any work... GM says it pushed 6 gallons/minute of coolant though...
Also checked the I/C fuse and relay just to make sure. I probably did this awhile back but forgot, so just to be sure.

I changed a bulb and added some washer nozzles to the hood of the 96. I hated the ones on the wiper arms that were broken anyway. Then when I went to move it a brake line popped from rust. I got the old line out but it was in the 90's today so I didn't put the new line in yet. My patience goes away when it's hot.

Got a awesome pull from the Junkyard today, a coil pack from a 02 Supercharged GTP grandprix and swapped it in and fired her right up and she purred real nice and smooth took the hiccup she was having right out of her so, i scored twice today once with the Supercharged coils and again when it was the solution that i needed to fix my car. I say WIN-WIN for me today!

Replaced the I/C pump today.
This goes on my list of "When I meet the GM engineer that designed this..."
Let's put the bolts/nuts that hold down the pump on the BACKSIDE of the brace, up in the crossmember, swaybar, against the engine/oil pan. Not in front, where it would be easily accessible...
Anyway, to prove what a difference (even in this heat/humidity). On my way down the other house, I did a couple mid-boost to 3/4 boost runs. My IAT2's shot up to 221* and wouldn't come back down after 5 minutes of cruising under no boost. GM has it bleed boost at 248*... SO had I done a couple successive WOT pulls, I'd have surely hit that!
After, doing the same, it shot up to 165*, but within a minute or two of being off the throttle, it came back down to 130* - 135*
And again, even in this heat, I can feel it's much stronger. I can't wait for cooler temps...

I finished putting the new brake line on the 96 and got them bled so it has brakes again. And I had to change the thermostat in the 04 because it was getting to about 214 degrees before it would start cooling down. It's back at a steady 179 again, so everything is fixed.....for now.

Yesterday I changed the $172 alternator for no reason. The electrical problem came back so I changed the alternator and it fixed it for a while but it came right back again. I also went to Matt's and he replaced the joints in my cv axle that was clicking. Today I plan on digging into this to fix the electrical issue and start looking at different cars.
