The G8s are looking good. When do the GXPs come out? I hope that with the new design, GM has figured out a way to prevent rear quarter panel rust right above the rear wheels and on the other places most frequently rusted out. One thing I just thought to ask: Where's the blower motor for the rear window vents? Also, I don't believe I've read about many future modding plans...

Rust? The first ones were available in March. I haven't heard any rust complaints yet. I haven't seen the rear window vents, so I have no clue.
Mods, for the time being, will be limited to the cheap and free kinds. Hood vent plugs and intake insulator will be gone today. Maybe a CAI soon.
The word on GXP's is January or February.

I think he is talking about the 92-95 Bonnevilles that rusted at the wheel well behind the rear doors, or any other typical rust issues on any GM car. It would be illogical to assume that G8's are having rust issues at this point!

Yes, that rust.

Well, being newly designed in the last few years and by people unrelated to the groups that worked on most GM cars, it'll be a while before we figure that one out.

WOW. That is great. But can't believe you're going to drive it in the winter!
These things are so gorgeous though...I might have to start a G8 catalog.

yum yum yum.
I can't help but notice that it has the Bridgestone Potenza's, as opposed to PeterG's Goodyear RS-A's?

Pete got the all-season option on his 18's. 19's only come with summer tires. RE050 or something like that.

So, can we get some pics with both the Bonnie and the G8 together?

The homelink is almost obsolete, due to the fact that most modern garage doors have "revolving" code, it changes the codes, similar to the PAYPAL keys, so noone else can accidentally open your garage door. It doesn't work on our garage or shop doors. Sweet car, looks awesome, maybe i will get one used in a few years at a good price.

Y'know...they do update homelink systems. Door openers will always have a remote...and so obviously they wouldn't just let homelink go obsolete. I don't have a garage, but I've used mine several times on brand new homes when frequently using the garage...no problems with new openers so far...and that over several different manufacturers as well.

Ummm, my garage door has a "Rolling Code", and my homelink works just fine. There are special instructions in the owners manual that you need to follow to set it up correctly.

However, this is getting off topic.
