Got ya. I've only done touchless where there isn't salt.

Ordered a new spoiler today.
This one from Bodykit kingdom down under.
http://www.bodykitskingdom.com.au/holde ... ies-1.html
After Fx conversion, it's $136. Sadly though, $130 for shipping. Even still an OEM unit is $400, $500, etc... If you can even get it.

Glad you found one.
Isn't $130 for shipping ridiculous?
I think that shipping charge is a built in profit maker.

It's coming from Australia. And it won't be in a teeny, tiny box now that I think of it. I'm sure it's going to be in a long box with lots of packaging to protect it.

O.K.
Didn't know it was coming from outside the USA.
Freight charge is probably correct then.
As far as the touchless car wash goes you are correct when trying to get the salt off.
I tried one once and it really didn't do much at all.
Had to take the car to car wash where the brushes touched the car.
Luckily I am now retired and don't go out when the weather sucks.
Makes a huge difference when the car does not see salt.
Also my garage floor is not longer white powder.

Yea, I wish there was a more affordable pipeline between the US and Australia...
During our snowpacalypse last month, the G8 just sat, so it didn't get tooo bad.

Back in 2007ish I sold a 94-95 L67S1 supercharger, LIM, gaskets and an elbow adapter I made to run in a Commodore on Aussie Ebay. When I shipped it USPS, I remember it being surprisingly reasonable for the weight. It was obviously more compact than a spoiler though.

Yea, I wonder if that dimensional weight thing comes in to play here.

I paid $93 in shipping for an A/C line for the GTO from Australia. Part only cost $85.

This is one of those cases where
size matters. If a box is over a certain dimension (can't remember what that dimension is, but it's relatively small) the freight cost of oversea shipping gets redonkulous. Even if the box is empty. Weight plays in as well, but the dimension is the real kicker.
I wish those guys would back off their watermark a bit, it's almost impossible to see the spoiler in those pictures.

That's what she said.
And yes, on those watermarks. I actually had to ask how the thing mounted because the poor/dark picture laden with those watermarks covered everything up.

Effectively deflating many a young man's ego.

That is their specialty. They do it very effectively.
Anyway, spoiler arrived Tuesday. I'm a little disappointed because everyone else who ordered the spoiler got it in black. Which I was OK with. It would've fit the other trim, tinted windows, darker SS wheels, etc... Anyway, mine came in primer grey. So no I have to paint the *dang* thing, which obviously adds to the cost. So now since I am going to paint it, I am doing it in Sport Red. Mind you there was no ordering selection for black or grey.

Just wrap it in carbon fiber tape and lag-bolt it to your trunk.

Had I known, I'd have just ordered the same spoiler IN carbon fiber.

That is what is frustrating me. I wanted to have it back on and have a normal looking G8 again, this weekend. Now I gotta wait another week. And spend another $250.

I hate when things become more complicated than they need to be. Like needing to remove a bracket and finding the head of the countersunk phillips screw is mauled beyond recognition. The 30 second task just became a 1/2 hour project.
I know your frustration. Your plans are swirling in the bowl and you're feeling like
