Great shots, Ed! That car does look good from here!

Yeah, I have to use the viewfinder in my DSLR as well (the LCD screen does not work as a viewfinder). It can be annoying sometimes.

What I do on occasion is to bring an old trunk liner with me when taking pics. Allows me to get on the ground without hurting myself too much (always manage to injure somehow though,), and it helps keep my cloths clean. Then I get those cool "from below" shots. Otherwise, I'm standing there (can't get on my knees).

All we need now is some video!

Thanks Greg! It was kind of an impromptu thing, next time I'll have more time and a better place. Always scouting photo shoot locations... Might see if I can borrow my buddy's GoPro for some good driving vids. (Or I might just suck it up and get my own).

Yeah, I think finding good photo locations is one of the hardest things to do. Either there is just too much crap around, or there is someone/thing bothering you. Last time I tried to take pictures of my G8, I had a woman in a Maxima that was watching me, then decided to drive her car behind mine while I was taking pictures. Annoyed the crap out of me. I didn't want her Nissan in my pictures.

Yeah, I've been looking at GoPro's as well, but that's a big 'ouch' to the wallet.

Yeah, the black is $330 now... Idk, haven't decided what I want to do yet. I guess it depends on what i get for my winter tires.

$330 is better than the $400 is was a few months ago, but still a lot. I would also want to get a good remote mic (with windscreen) and the external LCD for it. With those, I can see the price going up.

$330 is a bit of parts, almost the cost of (some) cam(s). Which is why I have trouble biting down and buying a GoPro like I want, or a DSLR. Plus saving for moving/storing the car makes things interesting too.

Yeah, I have repairs and mods for both the Bonneville and G8 (with some of the G8 mods being inspired by Kyle and others by Will - bad influences :P ) that are going to tie up money. But if I want to start making videos at meets (and get some good driving videos), I need to get myself a good video camera. I need to research what is out there, but so far I like the idea of the GoPro.

I need to start mining for rare gems or something like that, to pay for all this stuff. . .

I'm at the point of selling organs almost. But nobody wants my well-used parts.

I have access to a Sony Video camera, but it's not good for hoonage and stuff like a GoPro...

So I gave it a quick wash and took a drive, ended up at this boat launch area I'd been at before, kinda the only open spot on what is likely the last beautiful Sunday afternoon here in MN. So here are some of the good pics that I managed to get. ;)

That one you can kinda see how meh the paint is right now. I plan on fixing that!

This weekend is my fall break. It's getting plugs and wires, a full detail and good wax, and just a good thorough inspection. I have Sunday - Tuesday, essentially...

Fall break already?! Rough life of a college student ;) Looks great Ed! Were those pics at the access for Big Watab? A good spot might be some pics down Fruit Farm road(hang your first left after you cross the bridge if you're leaving campus), not very heavily traveled and wooded on both sides. The fall colors will be coming in nicely soon!

Indeed it was Big Watab! Good eye. I was followed there by a blue 65-67 GTO 'vert, must live back behind there somewhere.

Fruit Farm is cool, might try that. There are a few other spots too, just didn't have THAT much time.

You saw the meet thread, right?

The house in the background gave that away. Nice area during this time of year. Lots of fun roads to cruise from to Cold Spring, and Avon.

Dang I'm good! Hmmm, don't think I've seen that one around. My buddy that lives on Fruit Farm has a sick Chevelle, usually a nice patch of rubber in front of his place at any given time haha. Didn't see the meet thread, I will look...

Wires? Aren't they coil on plug design?

Pushrod engine spark plugs aren't at the top of the heads and so you still need a short segment of wire. It's still a "direct" or "distributorless" setup. The coil is in the same place as you'd find on an OHC "coil on plug" car.
