This is a shot in the dark, for if no other solutions turn up... could it be fuel-related? Bad gas? Time to replace fuel filter? Intermittent fuel injector problem? Have you used any fuel system cleaner lately?

Possible, but its been happening for about a month, I've filled up numerous times. The fuel filter was done at 48k miles. And An Injector would throw a code even intermittently, I would think anyway.

i still think your PCM is toasted and not throwing codes :roll:

If his PCM was toasted it wouldn't run at all more than likely, or at least not well. Lots more things would also be tripping out.

Unless it is a small glitch in the programming, it wouldn't necessarily make the whole thing bad... :poke:

Just got back from Kyle's. Found some interesting things;
-Readings are goofy on some things, Kyle said he'll post with the scan, so I'll let him explain.
-Also, we tried swapping the PCM with one I got from Haro, and we could not get it to do a security relearn :dontknow:
-Basically we found the likely suspect to be the o2 sensor, I think somebody mentioned this earlier, live and learn... IF and this is a big if, I can find an AC Delco o2 sensor here in town tomorrow or at least by Sunday night, I will switch it out and see what happens... If not, I leave for California for two weeks on Monday, so I would just order it from RockAuto and have it waiting here for when I get back on the 19th. I have three places left to try one being, dare I say, the dealer. So I'm crossing my fingers, both that I can find this and that this fixes my issue.

Hell Id just order from RA if you are gonna be gone for 2 weeks. Dont even waste your breath with the dealer.

it would be a last resort and an unlikely one... Theres a ma and pa parts store here in town that stocks pretty much all delco parts so hopefully they have one...

Probably over the cost of what you can get at RA.

First off, I am new to this site but not the car. I have an 01' NA with 130k on it and I am having pretty much the same issue. I have replaced a broken vacuum line, lower intake gaskets, upper manifold w/ gaskets, I did a full tune up with OEM plugs wires and ignition coils. Also a fuel filter and cleaning of the throttle body and MAF. All of this with no results, after speaking with a friend of mine who has been a mechanic for 15 years he has told me to check the torque converter. I haven't done this yet but it might be worth a shot.

Do you know if your 02 sensor has been replaced?

Not likely to fix the problem though. I just did mine and It didn't change anything.
Also I cannot for the life of me get the PCM I have to relearn to eliminate that possibility, I tried for about 2 hours and didn't get a thing out of it except aggravation.
Boy do I need this vacation, for many reasons that are causing me stress, one of them being stupid little issues like this.
*end rant*
I don't really know where to go from this point, but likely that it'll have to wait two weeks until I get back. :roll:

So, I was on my way up to the trans shop to have them take a look and another CEL popped up for a MAF sensor. I had only cleaned it when this code popped up a week ago. Well I swapped it in the parking lot of the local parts store and had them clear the code again. When I drove off, no more hesitation. What a relief.
