we found out it wasn't the brakes. my oil pressure sender was bad and i found a crack in my oil pan right next to the drain plug. I called sears and the guy that changed my oil used a power tool to put my drain plug in and he way overtightened it. I couldn't even get it out. Bought a new oil pan for about $15 waiting for it to warm up so i can slap it on.

I'd make more of a stink with Sears and see if you can't get some recompense. Wal-Mart FUBAR'd the factory hubcaps on my Buick. They cut me a check sufficient for getting new factory hubcaps after raising a stink with the store manager and with corporate. I had to be patient, but they ultimately made it right.

Make sure you have some RTV silicone, a second-generation Fel-Pro pan gasket, a good jack, and some long extensions ready when doing the oil pan. It's more of an afternoon project than a quick slap-and-go. The oil pickup doesn't want to fit around the windage tray that's a part of the pan gasket.

i called sears they said they will reimburse me for the pan, gasket, gasket sealant, and all necessary oil change products i bought. All though they have messed my car up in the past this comes to no surprise. They fired the guy that did my oil change. Going to start doing my own oil changes.

Kind of reminds me of when Mr. Lube got grease all over my brake rotors. I never did complain, I really should have. I just had to install new pads, and they were half gone anyway, so it wasn't a huge expense. But still.....

I'm glad you found your problem though.

UPDATE...engine ended up blowing up. Got it rebuilt and it runs great. What i thought was a water pump squeel ended up being the fact that i drove 2,500 miles without a pcv valve (thanks to sears). Engine rebuild threat is here: http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... 19&t=29225
