Not at all, I had the tires balanced again and had the weights placed where they wouldn't rub. Boy those guys at the tire shop were confused by the brakes.

I replaced the upper radiator brackets. The originals were dull and faded :(

Today I added another line out converter that's only for the sub in the trunk. I had been using the line out that was built into my amp but it was weak. After hearing Randy and Austin's systems at the meet I knew that mine wasn't right. It's much better now.

Did a "restoration" on my headlight lenses and cleared the corners for good measure while I was at it. Pretty pleased with the result...

Kind of wondering how it would look to paint the black inserts to match the body now lol, hmmmmm...

*On a side note... I searched for some time for a tutorial on "clearing the corners" but never found one. So, since I had a very good idea of what needed to happen I just dove in. Then thought to myself, I should take a bunch of pictures and do a write up on this since nobody else has. So I took probably 50 pictures through all the steps. And then what happens? I come here tonight, check the "active topics" and stumble across the how to thread on clearing the corners. Ugh. Oh well, I have very detailed memories now LOL! :banghead:

The thunderstorms final settled down last might and it cooled off so I took the opportunity to fix the RR power window and RR holy sh1t handle light.

I figured I was going to have to at least take the power window motor apart but after getting it off the regulator assembly I found it was working and the regulator was jammed. Freed it up and lubricated it and it's working fine.

The little slide switch on the light was missing and the light wouldn't turn on. Rather than mess with it too much, I just soldered a jumper wire from the white wire on the switch to the positive side of the bulb. Cost was zero and now the light comes on with the rest of the interior lights.

Little by little she's getting there.

Just finished a little work on the Bonneville...

Front & Rear Pads
Front & Rear Rotors
Front & Rear Calipers
Front & Rear Caliper Brackets
Front & Rear Brake Hoses
Brake Flush
Left Side Lug Nuts & Caps
Brake Reservoir Cap

The flush was long overdue but the rest was virtually cosmetic. I got tired of looking at chipped calipers (thanks to careless technicians over the years) and the rusted rotors. The rebuilt calipers got powder coated red (slightly lighter shade than original) while the brackets got powder coated black. I installed top of the line painted Raybestos rotors and got their new enhanced hybrid pads. These are supposedly the best of both ceramic and semi-metallic meshed into one pad.

I opted to try the drag reduction clips on the rear pads as well. I'm not sure if they are just a gimmick or if they actually help. They were only a few bucks so it isn't the end of the world either way.

During my experience I learned a lot about working with parking brake cables. These really aren't terrible with the right tools and following the procedure GM outlines in the service manual.

The issue that really annoyed me was discovering there was no caliper slide pin boot on the left side. Everything was corroded and certainly didn't slide very easily. This was seriously irritating since that caliper had been replaced by a local GM dealer while under warranty.

Yesterday I started by throwing in a new PCV valve. Then I cleaned the engine bay out and made it look at puurty. After that I jacked her up, took the front-right wheel off to check out my inner/outer tie rods, rotors and pads. All were surprisingly 100%. Undercoated the wheel well and will be undercoating the front left, and both back wheel wells today.

Lots to come...but this past weekend I finally got around to putting the GXP brakes on that I have been sitting on for nearly a year.

Stock calipers with EBC Ultimax rotors

GXP Calipers with EBC Sport rotors & stainless steel braided brake lines as well.

^Sadface.

I opened my trunk and looked at my amp and fuel pump access hole. Shook my head, and then closed the trunk.

One day.
