Thanks! It needed to lose those ugly wheels it had before!! These are just a little too bright for me, though. I don't want to go black but a couple shades darker would be nice.
How's your brake kit coming??

I installed my hockey puck mount. Holy crap that is a night and day difference when shifting. I also repainted the bracket with a black bedliner paint. No more rust.

The wife and I drove to San Antonio (well, she drove most of the way) today. We filled up before we left and haven't put in gas since we got back home. I'm guessing it has about 2 gallons of gas left. I had her reset the trip meter when we filled up before we left. The trip meter has 449 miles on it. I'll update the post when we fuel-up tomorrow with the calculated fuel mileage. Before ethanol was mixed into the gasoline, it wasn't unusual for us to go 450 miles on a tank of gas in the '92 SSE. - BC
EDIT: 458 miles on 16.1 gallons of 87 Octane gas. That's 28.4 mpg, calculated by me, not the car. - BC

Bbamm your car officially is back to being stunning. Love those retros too.
Let my female coworker borrow Penny, was fun to listen to all the stories regarding finding a place to parallel park it in the downtown area…

Thanks nos4blood. I might take them apart to darken the corners but aside from that, I'm loving the retros too!
Today I spent an hour at the SOS (DMV) only to find out that my insurance co had my VIN wrong. Got that fixed and headed back now... New vanity plate should be here within 14 days...

You should darken the corners and spray the high beam cap black. Alternatively, I have GXP caps I can send you if you want. The corners will be easy to darken, just need some painter's tape and patience.
What's the new vanity plate gonna be, or is it a secret?

Spraying the caps black should be fine right? I shouldn't need to actually replace it, or will the paint crack from the heat of the lights? (I am using HIRs with highbeam splitters along with the bixenon retros) PM me info on the GXP caps. I have a set of unmolested GXP headlights and I don't really want to tear into them unless I have to. Also, any suggestions on other ways to darken the corners without just spraying them? I'd rather have some sort of lens back in there, maybe.
As for the plate, nothing too secret.

Just a designation for the car since most people seem surprised by it's low rumble...

Wasn't too bad. I have been disposing and eliminating a lot of stuff before, during and after the move.

You can spray them black with the same paint you can use for the corners. I would use some black engine enamel. They should hold up, as mine have and I have the same set up as you with HIRs as well. If you want to make lenses I can send you some of the fluorescent ceiling lamp material I used to make my clear corner lenses along with the GXP caps if you'd like. Do you have a dremel tool? I didn't darken my corners, and I like how it looks, but gweg_b has a set of my lights with those clear corner lenses as well as darkening.

I actually don't have a dremel as of recently. I somehow burnt mine up. How hard is it to change the caps? It's just a small screw right? I wish my lights were as easy to set up as your car. I've got the stupid GXP wiring that requires two sets of splitters in order to have brights with the retrofit. TRS has sent me the wrong kind 3 times now. Hopefully soon I will have all the wiring I need to make it work.
