Traverse/Enclave/Acadia.
And of course REAL SUV's like Tahoe's/Yukon's/Suburban's.
Yes, GM is the primary focus for now.
I am also looking at Lincoln and Cadillac , but I am parking on the street that is not the nicest one and there is a concern some kid brainwashed by social justice might scratch it or something. On the plus side, when buying a luxury car with a high mileage for 40% of the sticker price - you buy all that luxury for almost nothing. I would guess a $50K car after 3-4 years and 100K miles will cost maybe $3-4K more than a $35K car. So you are buying $15K worth of luxury add ons for $3-4K.
I ruled out the bigger SUVs since I don't need them for anything and it is more difficult to find a parking on the street for them. Also the gas mileage. But since I don't drive much, that might not be a deal breaker if they provide some added benefit like safety (the bigger the better) or less noise when driving. Do they?

This is where I think GM and Cadillac sorta have a gap.
On the Chevy side, going up in size for example, you have the Captiva, Equinox, Traverse, Tahoe, Suburban. Basically they fill every size gap.
However, for Cadillac, you basically go from 0 - 60. You have the Equinox sized SRX (since you're looking used the XT5 will be off your radar I presume), then you jump to the Escalade. There is no Traverse sized middle ground and something I think is hurting Caddy.
So if you want "Luxury" your GM choices are an GMC Acadia Denali or Buick Enclave.

And now that they replaced the SRX with the XT5, which is Traverse/Acadia based, they're missing a smaller SUV, something Equinox based. Probably called the XT3? lol

They are related, but the XT5 is still much smaller, so there still is a gap. Also, XT5 is too new, probably not in his wheel house.

the XT5 has a 116" wheel base, but the interior sure doesn't reflect a 116" wheel base. Feels more like a 110" wheel baser or shorter. The pre 2000 Bonneville had a 110" wheel base. - BC
